Ini adalah kisah tentang gladiator budak muda di arena bawah tanah. Dia tidak tahu tentang masa lalunya atau bagaimana dia sampai di sana, hanya saja namanya Eigil, dan bahwa dia kuat. Suatu hari, dia membunuh bos dan melarikan diri ke luar, bergabung dengan sekelompok tentara bayaran sebagai rekrut baru. Selama satu misi, mereka bertemu vampir, Lucy, yang membantai band dengan kekuatan tidak manusiawi. Setelah mengetahui bahwa Eigil hanya tahu cara membunuh, Lucy membiarkannya tinggal di rumahnya, mendidik dan merawatnya. Dua tahun berlalu, dan pada hari keberangkatan Eigil, mereka berdua bertukar janji bahwa jika Eigil menjadi raja dan memiliki tanah hutan Erg, dia bisa datang dan membawanya sebagai wanita. Menjadikan ini tujuan hidupnya, Eigil memulai perjalanan untuk menjadi seorang pahlawan, seorang raja, dan menemukan kerajaannya sendiri.
